The evalu8IT-concept

evalu8IT guides companies and organisations to find best evaluations of software and hardware. We have listed leading research firms providing evaluation services. The services are financed by advertisement banners from research firms, software and hardware vendors.

The DPU-concept

Data Research DPU has published check-lists with standardized requirement specifications, established a public data base and a method for evaluations. The method matches custom-made needs according to the check-list and the product ratings in the data base. Applications covered are accounting, 4GL and office automation. 200 systems are included in the data base. So far 5.000 check-lists are sold and more than 300 evaluations are made. More than 1.900 companies in Scandinavia have used the services from Data Research DPU. Representations and partnerships have been established in Norway, France and England. Data Research DPU is agent for Bloor Research, CTR and OVUM evaluation reports in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and France.

Sören Janstål gives lectures and leads advanced seminars for computer science. Some examples are lectures within office automation, accounting systems, evaluation methodology and systems development for Data Processing Society in Sweden (Dataföreningen i Sverige), Nordic Forum for Information, AIC, the university of Linköping and the Institute for Marketing (IHM). In an earlier employment by IBM, Sören Janstål gave 50 lectures at IBM Nordic Education Centre within project managing and systems development.

Earlier experiences

Sören Janstål has more than 30 years of experience in the computer science field as programmer, systems engineer, project leader, systems manager, IT-manager, consultant manager, and marketing manager from IBM, AGA and Cap Gemini. The 11 years with IBM included 1.5 year assignment to an advanced world wide projects in Boca Raton, San José/USA and Mainz/Germany.
